Sheep Shearing Couse

About the Event
Sheep Shearing Course!
You may be a sheep owner or have an interest in historical farming processes. You might be finishing agricultural college or just love animals and want to learn new skills.
Either way all are welcome from experienced handlers to complete beginners.
The first hour of the course covers catching and handling of ewes and rams, general care and health checks.
We then move onto a demonstrated shear followed by turning over practice and a chance to shear a sheep yourself with help and guidance from our staff, video exerts and a fun end quiz and photoshoot with your sheep!
You also have the opportunity to buy all or a sample of your sheep's wool for spinning or as a keepsake.
There will also be a chance for everyone to meet this year's baby lambs as well as William the Shire Horses, Kevin the mini-pig and all our other Livestock and poultry.
Course starts at 12 and runs for three to four hours depending on amount of course attendees. Sheep, shears and all equipment supplies.
All our sheep are used with schools, educational and historic displays so are use to crowds and the hand shears allow us to shear in a quite manner which is much less stressful for the sheep.
16+ only (though please contact us if you have younger children who have an interested in farm activities)
Limited places so book early to avoid disappointment. Contact us here in Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 07813604575.
