The Horses
'Blue', 'Cloudy' and 'Magic' are an important part of the SeedlingTeam and provide a variety of experiences for both adults and children.
From riding lessons to sensory experiences they provide a calm, trusting companion for any student.
The horses work on the ground both on-line and at liberty (no ropes) as well as under saddle and their range 0f heights and ages means we can find the perfect partnership whether it be as a best friend to learn with, a motivator for physical exercise, a partner to undertake activities with or as listener for those who have CPTSD/PTSD/ Anxiety.
To keep their lives fun the horses also take part in challenges with Top Barn Horsemanship and dress up in costumes with riders wielding weapons and performing stunts as part of our historic displays for school, colleges and community groups..
At Root 'n' Branch Acres we have a variety of other animals that help us with our Animal Assisted Activities and Learning.
The sheep do a multitude of jobs from our Saxon Life Experience, to shearing demonstrations, children's petting farms
to being a much loved wedding mascot.
The dogs provide reading and playing partners for your young students as well as helping adults with anxiety.
Yemi the German Shepherd can play fetch all day long whilst Clover the Lurcher likes noting more than a cuddle and to lie next to her new friends. The both love agility and training exercises and help us to teach effective communication for those both verbal and non-verbal.
The poultry, waterfowl, guinea pigs, and rodents also have a variety of special jobs. The have been measured by 6 year olds learning maths, been feed and cleaned out by students who are learning about routine building and resilience and have been petted and fussed over by those need a sensory outlet, exposure or just some mindfulness time.
